There are two sources providing free training for eligible participants:

Workplace Training for Innovation Program Funding may be applicable for most sessions offered at CanWest. Complete this very simple application form and submit to the program administrator. For more details contact the program administrator at 877-365-5757 or www.aved.gov.bc.ca/workplace_training_program.

Horticulture Basics® Training Program. Free training is offered to eligible entry-level employees of small businesses at CanWest. Check out the seminar page for all the details.

Container Competition

Check out the hot trends in container gardening at CanWest's first container competition. The beautiful designs
will be featured at the show entrance. Judging will take place on Wednesday, September 29 with the winners announced at approx 6:15 pm that same day at the Bach Piano Lounge which is centrally located on the show floor. Want to add your masterpiece to this competition? Contact Karen: 604.574.7772 ext 112.

Silent Auction
September 29 & 30; Show Entrance
You can bid to win your favorite container at our silent auction! Yes, the beautifully designed containers will be up for auction! The bid sheets will be located just inside the show entrance - bidding will close on Thursday, September 30 at 4:00 pm. The successful bidders must take the container(s) home with them by no later than Friday, Oct 1 at 12:00 Noon.

Iron Chef Plant-Off!

Let's have some fun! Cheer on some of the BCLNA Directors in CanWest's brand new Iron Chef plant-off on September 30 at 12:30 pm taking place on the show floor. This is a fun competition where the board of directors' true container design skills will be put to the test!

Getting to CanWest

We're close to parking and transit, which makes it easy to get to and from areas in and around Greater Vancouver. Here are a few options:

SkyTrain
Exit at Waterfront Station and you are just steps away from the VCC at Canada Place. It's just a 40 minute ride from end to end - King George station to Waterfront or jump on the Canada Line at Vancouver International Airport. Canada Line will have you at Waterfront Station within 30 minutes.

All suburban services connect with downtown Vancouver's #15 and #17 buses, which provide the closest drop-off service to the VCC.

5 round trips each day dropping you off at the front door of the VCC.

Impark at VCC West 1055 Canada Place : $30 /day. Max vehicle height 6.7'.

900 West Cordova Street

(south side of Cordova between Howe & Burrard located below the Civic Plaza)

535 Hornby Street: located beneath the YWCA and Bentall V between Dunsmuir and West Pender

The cost to park in lots near the VCC range from $16.00 to $30.00 max per day. Most accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Visitors to Canada

US Citizens

If Traveling by Car: When entering Canada from the United States, U.S. citizens must show a valid U.S. passport. U.S. citizens entering Canada from another country other than the United States must have a valid passport. If traveling by air a valid passport is required by all visitors.

International Visitors
Persons visiting from countries other than the United States must have a valid passport and may require other documentation such as visas. Check with the nearest Canadian Consulate well in advance of travel.
